Wow December already.....
It sure is coming fast. Time has flown here these past couple of weeks. Blogging has been put on the back burner, and I feel sad about that.
Our trip away was great. We had a warm beautiful day.We never stopped all day, and were able to stock up on a lot of good buys. I think the best part was just getting away with my family.
Mother Nature sure has been undecided on weather here in our part of the country. After nice warm temps, it switched over to freezing cold, with a whole lot of wind. We already have had to snow storms, and I think the snow on the ground is here to stay now.
It pretty much snows everyday now.
The girls enjoyed the first storm of the season last weekend.
My parents are pretty much the same, Mom has good days and others are not as good.
Justin spent the weekend working for the farmer over the road, and his evenings tearing apart my Summer chicken coop which was a 8x12' mini barn. He is going to transform it into a small garage to work in.
My chickens are now all moved into the chicken coop inside the barn. The guys promise me they are going to build me a brand new more efficient chicken coop in the spring. I would like it to be round. We will wait and see how that turns out.
Hubby is still working full time, and spending the evening in his garage doing bodywork on company Trucks for the mine.
Both Justin and Hubby are also filling a extra shed with extra firewood every moment they get.
Jillian received student of the month last Friday. We were super excited for her.
Jayne has been so busy with a heavy work load of essays to get in before Christmas. Our printer went on the bum, and it put her back a couple of days. I was able to take a run into the next town and get a new one with the great warranty I had. ( $10 well spent)
The girls worked on the tree and finished it up Sunday afternoon.
I was able last week to get a night with Hubby and we got our bathroom painted. I still have a lot more i would like to do in there to make it more country looking, but time is a hard thing to manage these days.
We bought a new fridge with our Canadian Black Friday sales. It is super huge just what I was looking for. It will be delivered on Saturday and I will post pics of it when I get it.
I am really happy about it, as I so needed a bigger fridge. Best of all it was a great deal :)
As for our farm family. We have added to new heifer calves to our home. Phoebe has friends like her now.
On a sad note out old Shetland pony passed away Saturday morning. She was close to 30. She has had the heaves for years, and that was the reason we ended up getting her, as she could no longer live in the barn at another farm. We keep our horses out doors with a shelter and they do fine. Muffin lasted 8 years here with us.
Hubby and his friend moved the horses to there winter pen on Sunday afternoon. They divided up the pen with the other animals and after a long cold afternoon they all came in to sit and enjoy a yummy turkey dinner with all the trimmings.
Monday it snowed again, Tuesday was mild with rain, and this morniing we awoke to yet another snowstorm....
yes I would say it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

A Little Late Catch Up
It has been way way to long since my last blogging post, and I so apologize for that. I kinda got swallowed up by Fall preparations around the farm, and having both parents not well.
But I'm back, and wanting to bring you all up to date on what I was so busy with.
So I'm going to back up a week ago or a little more and start. Lets start in the kitchen.
I finally got the last of the cucumbers used up and finished off with another batch of Celery Relish.we have had some heavy frosts the last few nights.
If any would like the recipe let me know.
I got 2 batches more of apple jelly made. I only get a crop of apples every second year here so I have been trying to make enough apple items for two years.
If you would like my apple jelly recipe again I will certinally share it.
I also tried out Donna's Apple pie filling Recipe over at Merry Heart Crafts. Thank you Donna it turned out lovely.
I highly recommend it for you go to pie filling. :)
We picked tomatoes, and more tomatoes, and filled our baskets with ripe ones. It seemed like it took forever this year for them to ripen, but once they started.
We also had way to many cherry tomatoes. I planted to many and my mouth is all broken out from eating so many. But they are so good.
I bottled 18 quarts for the winter, and made Ketchup in the slow cooker with the rest. We ended up with 16 pint jars of ketchup.
Then a neighbour dropped by and gave us more tomatoes. I did up another 11 quarts of sauce. They also brought me 6 more heads of cauliflower so we did 4 up and blanched and froze them. We are still eating the rest with our own.
I have my windows sills in my home filled with green ones waiting for them to ripen.
I should be making a batch of chow with the green ones, but just have not had the time as of yet.
We got the corn all picked and I have been storing the bags in the cooler to preserve it longer. The girls helped me and we were able to do up some cream corn. I also blanched and froze some on the cob for winter eating. There is still a half bag and we have been enjoying a lot of corn on the cob with our suppers.
As for our pork.....
2 Thursday evenings ago we cut up the first one. It went well and after babysitting a cooler for the week I was happy it was done. Well most of the week that is.Then our weather changed back to rain and cold about mid week and the cooler worked perfect.
2 Friday evenings ago we butchered our second one,and hung it in the cooler. We grounded up all the pork that was left from the first pig,and put it back into the fridge for Saturday to make Sausages.
Saturday afternoon we made our first batch of sausages with my husbands cousin that had came to help out. We were only able to get medium casings for the sausages as we were completely out and I was having trouble finding them as our normal rep was out of province. But they worked. We usually always made our maple ones in the breakfast size and our honey garlic in the large size. But this year is a it different. No worries they still taste wonderful.
This year we were able to try a new flavour.. Donair ...... They are wonderful and I bet they would be even better wrapped in a pita, added with shredded lettuce, a little tomato, onion, and topped with Donair sauce. Can't wait to try this out.
Tuesday evening we cut up our bigger more fattier pig. It went well as well.
Here you can start to see a little of what the meat room, and cooler looks like
long ways to go yet, but it sure beats where we were before. We have not had enough time yet to get the counters built so we had to use a table for now to wrap the meat.
Jill loved to help wrap the meat.
Wednesday morning we had our annual family breakfast at Jill's school. It was family week and every year they host the most wonderful continental breakfast of pancakes, cereal, toast, muffins, fruit, cheeses, tea, coffee, and juices.
After sitting eating and chatting I said my goodbyes to Jill and Jayne and I headed over to her school to drop her off. Then it was off to Moms for my routine day.
The kiddies had the remainder of the week off for teachers meetings, and with it being Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, they will not have to go back until Tuesday.
We had a very easy chicken burger and fry supper, as I had a meeting for Jill's grade 5 end of year trip at 630 which went well.
I got back home around 740 and Hubby has just finished grounding up the pork for the sausages. We all got involved and got more made.
Another job done. It feels great to have all the pork done up in the freezer. Along with all those Sausages.
I am not sure if we will need a deer this year for our sausages. We have a little time to think about it. We still have our beef left to do.
Partridge season has started here as well back on the 1st, and we have not had time as of yet to go hunting.Justin has gotten one so far. I was hoping over the long weekend we will get a chance to start. I have been craving a bouillon, but this was not the case as Friday after noon my Dad ended up in the hospital with very high blood pressure and a gull bladder attack. So I spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday running back and forth to the hospital and looking after my Mom. Thank goodness I have such a understanding family. No pumpkin pie got made, no pie crust got done, and no apple pie. But my family says that we have all this week to get them done and we will eat pumpkin pie all next weekend. I love my Family.
Dad is feeling a bit better. he still wants to go back to work tomorrow. We had a wonderful brunch with my family this morning.

Rhurbarb Strawberry Jam
Yesterday between looking after my Mom, looking after my own children, doing laundry and hanging it on the line, cooking supper, and running my dishwasher I was able to get through half of the rhurbarb that my i laws brought me.
I made another roll, and 4 more containers of stewed rhurbarb, and a delisish batch of Rhurbarb Strawberry Jam made with strawberry jello. I got this recipe from Donna over at merry heart crafts blog. (She always has the best tasting recipes)
They turned out really well, and I had no problem finding a volunteer to lick out the pot and spoon.

A long Weekend...Monday Menu...and a busy week
After a nice family long weekend, we are all rested. Friday night was Hubby and my anniversary of our first date 17 years ago. Hubby took me to a party at a trailer campground park in the woods along the river.
So Friday night we piled the family into the truck and headed in the rain into the woods for a drive. We took the long way around and went to the trailer park( that is not there anymore) but still went along the water and explained to the kids, all about our evening. They love hearing stories. :) we came home around 1030 and we all went to bed.
Saturday it rained all day and I spent most of my day driving my parents, around.
We had a lovely BarBQue Saturday night of those tasty burgers I had posted earlier last week. We had homemade fries and corn on the cob with it. YUM!
Sunday the sun shined and we spent the day outdoors, it was great, we went weeding, got the pond ready, and put all the garbage at the road for our special collection large items.
We BarBQued Sunday night again, pork chops, potatoes in foil, and macaroni salad.
A friend popped in for a quick visit and we settled in with the family with some snacks, and watched Alaska the last frontier.
Monday it rained again, we all slept in, and had a wonderful brunch. Justin went fishing with the neighbour for the day, and the girls and I house cleaned and cooked. We made a pot of homemade soup with a soup bone that I had taken out of the freezer. We also put on a big old pot of meaty pasta sauce. We put bread on to rise. We made malassos cookies. We cooked some penne pasta And made a green toss salad.
Hubby spent most of the day sawing lumber that we have a order for.
We all settled in early because it was back to normal again.

Sunday Stuff
Well I got to sleep in a bit this morning. I am feeling better. The kiddies are as well. We had brunch this morning on the BBQ,honey garlic sausages with left over beans from last nights supper.
I got busy and put a small fire on in the wood stove and am keeping it going as it is cooler out today. I put a beef stew on there to cook slow for the day and will make dough boys to go with it for supper. The girls (with a little help from me) made a $100 chocolate cake for desert and I took out of the freezer some buns to make roast beef rolls to go with supper. they are a big hit in our house. Very simple....Just use buns and slice a strip in them as a split. Then a dab of mayo and a slice of roast beef (that we keep shaved and froze in small containers to make sandwiches with) then a little cheese over the top and bake in the oven on a cookie sheet just until they are toasty and the cheese melts
I did a few loads of laundry up and the guys are gone to the woods to finish up some firewood. Jayne and I worked a little tiding up her bedroom. I went out to the garage to finish up with her head and foot board that HB made for her. I put the last coat of varnish on, so it should be ready to come in tonight. Poor Jayne has been awaiting her new bed for a while now.
We had a bit of a temp change last night at supper time. It was almost scary. It got so dark out and the winds began to pick up. We ran to close everything up early. Then the down poor came. It rained most of the night. (we did need it though) but the wind was not needed.
This morning we found 2 dead moles in our pond, murder suicide. hummm maybe????
I picked a few more tomatoes out of the garden and picked a few apples to fill the fruit bowl.

Weekend Catch Up
Well I can sure say this has been one of those weeks that had felt like it was never going to get to Friday.
I managed to get a lot done ,more canning, laundry, and cleaning was on the list. The girls had meet the teacher night Tuesday and Wednesday evening, and I even squeezed in a trip to town to get some things at the general store. Yep it was a busy week.
The weather here has done it again. We are back into the Summer temps making it all the way up 30 degrees the last 2 days.
It has been wonderful for washing quilts, and doing our grain. Kinda a little bit different from my last post. But it is suppose to cool a bit today with only a high of 20 degrees which is still beautiful for this time of year.
As for canning I am still doing up zucchini and cucumbers. Justin is wanting to go and pick choke cherries so I guess I will be doing up some syrup and jelly as well.
Jill has a birthday party to go to today from 2 till 4 in town so I think I will try and go to the general and pick up a little extra sugar.
Yesterday I ended up with a rotten cold. Justin, and Jill had it coming on all week as well. Oh the joys of starting back to school. They bring home everything. So I guess it's living on honey for us.
Well I must go get breakfast on as I here them moving in their beds. Have a great weekend everyone

Next Wednesday is their first day back. They are both nervous and excited. And me well I am both scared and nervous.
Today the girls and I are going to travel to the city,2 1/2 hours away to do some shopping. Justin went to his grand parents camp for his last weekend of summer. His grandpa and him have a big fishing trip planned. They will be back on Monday. Hubby has to work as he Could not get the time off today to come with us.
Tomorrow morning we are heading up to the trailer for our last weekend there for the season. It was a great summer for the trailer and the kiddies will have lots of memories for years to come.

Late Night Post
It is 11:15 and I should sound to sleep by now,but i'm not. Instead I am in the kitchen making pickles. Why? you might ask.Well......
I picked cucumbers yesterday and I filled my basket. I put a few in the fridge for eating, I left 12 out on the island for my celery relish. I gave 4 to the neighbour, I gave 2 to my Dad,and I dropped off 8 at the library today while I was in picking up books. I still have 14 left in the basket and the garden is pretty much ready to be picked again and again. Cucumber overload.......
I needed to get those cucs off my island as they kept looking at me every time I walked past. I wanted to make relish today but somehow or other I never seemed to get a moment to cut everything up.
So after having a early morning as Justin was going to work over the road for 7 and Hubby was leaving early to go and get out new Billy goat. Breakfast got made, laundry got done, dishes were loaded into the dish washer, went outdoors making my new Billy goat a new home in the barn, and after bringing Cinnie Belle back in from getting out of her pen 6 times and then out through the barn hall twice I then helped Hubby unload our newest addition then helped him out with some welding before having to come in and get his lunch made up and his supper cooked as he was going in on night shift. We had a BBQ of steak, new potatoes in foil, veggies in foil as well, and salad. I only cooked his and then left after him to go to the library and then came home to make our supper.
My Inlaws came for a visit tonight to see our new farm additions. I served coffee cake and coffee. Got everything cleaned up and began to cut up my ing. for the celery relish. One of the barn kittens fell in the pool. (Jill's kitten snaps) I felt terrible for her as this is the second one she has lost to the pool. I wiped away a half hour of tears into my apron and kinda calmed her down. She was still pretty upset when she went to bed tonight. Funny how cats would even go near the water. We lost 2 that way and another last year in a bucket of water in the barn, we almost lost one the other day in my pond but we caught it right after it fell in.
My pickles smell so good simmering away as I type my post......
Tomorrow I have a full agenda as well.Justin is working early again and Hubby has a friend coming in fom the next town at 9. I have coffee cake left so he can serve that while I am away to have a overdue, well long overdue hair appointment at 10, then I am off tot he hospital to visit with Mom. I have a few things to clean up here in the house and I want to load the line up with work pants from the men of the family. The girls and I are going to the trailer at lunch time and staying the night. Hubby and Justin will come up with the truck on Saturday afternoon as Justin is working in the morning, and Hubby wants to do some work around here. I want to make a campfire pizza with the girls and I will make a pan of brownies to take along with us. I will make a list for Hubby so he can bring what we will need for Saturday night and Sunday then.
We are bringing the paddle boat back home as we only have next weekend at the trailer and then we have to have it out of there by the 8th.
So I will be back on Monday with another Cookie Jar post for my Jam jam cookies.
I wish you all a well and safe weekend.

Trying To Get Back On Track
It's been awhile since I have been able to sit and blog. Things have been so busy around here the last couple of weeks.
We have been busy with making hay, then trying to deal with a whole lot of rain that came way to late.
Since the hay came to a holt due to the heavy rains, we worked on repairs for the equipment. Mucked out the barns, and chicken coop. Scraped down the horse paddock with the crawler, which looked so much more like a pig pen then a horse paddock. Worked on some firewood, sawed cedar shingles at the shingle mill for the new part of the house, did up 10 gallons of yellow beans in the freezer, and a mixing bowl of peas,2 batches(20 pounds) of beets, and went to the trailer for a little down time.
Last Friday night we left for the trailer and had a great evening we had a campfire and then moved into the trailer to watch a movie before heading off to bed, so we could be up early. Saturday morning we were up at 6:30 and packed and on the road around 7:30. We headed over to the Grand Falls farmers market. (we were at this market last summer and enjoyed it do much) and we did once again. We headed over to Wal mart to get school supplies, and then to giant tiger. We left and headed out for more to our road trip. We saw a lot of country side and went to a nice picnic stop and had lunch we had taken along with us. We headed out for more of the country side views. We stopped at a few little shops and antiques places and enjoyed our day out.
This past week Mom has been doing really good, she is still on her feeding tube, but has finally decided to eat. She looks really good and is back to her old self again. I hope this stays.
Saturday afternoon we headed to the trailer once again. We had supper, went for a swim, and had a wonderful campfire with marshmallows and popcorn.
We went to bed and slept like babies. We decided on another road trip Sunday morning going in the other direction it was a great day,and we seen a lot more country side and stopped at a friends place for a great little visit. They are about a hour and a half away. Then we headed home and spent the evening mowing the lawns and working in my flowers.
This morning I made westerns for breakfast and cleaned up the house. Got the cloths line filled up,and then went to my kitchen garden. Oh my! Beans ,beans, and more beans again. The girls and I picked and we ended up with about another 5gallons. I put then in the wood shed till tonight and I will get to them and get them done up.
We are having a BBQ tonight with hamburgers, salads, and homemade fries with some new potatoes.
Ok, well I have decided to start back in the cookie jar next Monday, sorry I have not been around to keep up with my Monday posts.
Next Monday I decided to post My favorite jam jam recipe.

Wednesday To Wednesday
Wow a week has gone by since I last blogged. Where oh where have the days gone.
Here is a little recap of the past week. (without pics as my camera will still not upload on the computer)
Wednesday afternoon HB and I took off to get 2 new piglets. There were so many piglets there to chose from and we were only suppose to buy one but we decided since they were so good looking and healthy we would take 2. The girls have named them Babe and Bailey.
Thursday afternoon Mom had a terrible afternoon, with her heart stopping and they were able to bring her back. I only got home very late Thursday night. But she is doing much better and nothing else has happened since.
Friday the weather got really nice and HB and the weeones worked on the garden. We had take out for supper after I got home from the hospital around 6. We decided since everything was still good we would head over to our friends who have a large sheep from for a evening in the barns enjoying over a 100 lambs and helping them out a bit. We had coffee and cookies and enjoyed our visit and got home around 11.
Saturday was another beautiful day. We all got up early and after the barn work was done and we had breakfast out on the front porch decided to go to a few yard sales before I had to head into town to the hospital. We did not buy anything but was just nice to get out.
Sunday was spent cleaning up the yard and doing a bit more gardening.
Monday was a holiday and it was a real hot one. It got to 33 degrees. We again had yet another BBQ as we had done all weekend.
Tuesday was HB 's last day off and he got the fence put up around the garden to keep the dogs, and geese out. We planted a few more veggies and moved out a few plants from the green house. It went up to 26 degrees and we are so much enjoying the sun.
Today it rained all night and into most of the morning here. It is still 20 degrees and the sun is now back out and after getting back around lunch time I decided to stay indoors and clean the house. I did up the laundry and dishes, washed the floors and everything smells so fresh in here. I opened the windows and my Mom in law called and told to drop the weeones off at her house when I go back to the hospital and she will make a big cassorole of shipwreked for supper as they all love it and HB can pick them up on his way home from work.
Mom is out of isolation now and because of this I can start and bring in some projects to work as I sit with her. This will help me as well.
Thank you for all who is praying for her and my family. Please continue to do so. So far it is working. We will know more within the next 48 hours as we are suppose to meet with the Doctors and she is suppose to have a CT scan done of her stomach to see if the meds worked.
Take care and I wish you all a great rest of the week.

A Little Homemade Goodness
These past few weeks have taken a real toll on my pantry, freezers, and counter jars. As you know my Mom has been ill in the hospital for over a year now, but the last few weeks have been really bad. So I have been been not around the house,or the farm as much as I like to. Thus also meaning that everything was not getting a replenish like I usually do.
Today I came home from the hospital at lunch time and due to the rain I was not able to do anything outdoors. HB is working night shift so I decided to go to the Kitchen and work as he slept.
I got busy and made up a batch of brown sugar as I was all out.
I made a batch of laundry soap. I also put laundry into the washer.
I put on a mason jar of Vanilla on as I do not have to much left.
I made supper of baked chicken thighs with dipping sauce and baked potatoes, with carrots.
I made a batch of raspberry cookies.
And I was done......
I set the table and put supper on it, the weeones will be getting off the bus anytime now and HB and the weeones will eat and HB will drop them off at my inlaws on his way into work. I am heading back to the hospital and will pick them up later tonight.
Please put my Mother into your prayers.

The New Master Suite
I know,I know I have not been around the blogging world again, and believe me I feel terrible. But life sometimes keeps us so busy that it also keeps us away from the things we love doing most. (Like blogging)
So I will not make anymore promises I will blog when I can get a moment even if it is only a small posting.
We have had some beautiful Spring weather this past week. We went from freezing cold temps to a WOW 25 degrees. The snow has dropped so much and the yard is like a pig pen. This week however the temps are freezing once again. It went down to -15 overnight. What a change.
With Spring on it's way the green house is in full swing, and I am sure new spring arriivals with be popping up any day now in the barn.
We finally made it to the trailer to take a peek inside and we had no winter damage thus far that we could see. Once the weather warms up a bit like it had I will make my way out there to give it a good spring cleaning.
We are getting the camping itch already.
My Mom came home for the weekend once again and had a great stay. We too her back to the hospital late Sunday afternoon and she was pretty tired. She is coming along well and is awaiting her new equipment to be able to come home with.
HB has just started back on his day shifts after having the last 2 weekends off. He spent his time building another work truck,as a spare to travel to the mine with.
Justin has kinda gotten over Skidoo fever, but with the beautiful weather we have had it had began Dirt bike weather. (Yep you guessed it, he is now working out the winter sitting bugs out of his dirt bike and getting it tuned for the season)
Jayne had a great Friday evening as she went to a friends birthday party from after school till 8. It was a boy that she goes to school with. He is a very good friend of hers and used to live on the next road. They moved around Christmas time about a half hour away to a large country estate that had went for sale. They took us for the grand tour and it was amazing. Jayne was the only girl at the party, but fit right in. They even had a savenger hunt in there barn that does not yet house any livestock. (What fun)
Jill has been keeping busy with Nellie her horse. She has been trying to clean her up and make her look like her old self after a winter and muddy Spring thus far. (Not good for a white horse)
So I finally got my camera back to working order, and have been wanting to post some pics of the New master suite.
And there you have it.....
After waiting so long for this room to be finished, I can finally say that it was well worth the wait.
Have a wonderful day everyone.

Super Busy Friday
Today has been a crazy one.It began 3 nights ago when I last was able to sleep due to a terrible tooth ache. I called my dentist and was only able to get in today at 3:30, Then.... It started off at 3 this morning when we woke to the sound of poor Franny gagging. We got up and she had been sick all over the living and bedroom. We got it all cleaned up and HB got ready for work. I laid back down for a little bit to try to get some rest, and poor Franny was sick on my bed. I got up stripped the bedding and wondered what was going on. She was going to the Vet this morning to get spayed and was not sure if I was going to be able to take her or not. Well mystery solved when I went upstairs to get the weeones up for school. At the top of the stairs was a empty package of cats treats that we had bought for the girls cats yesterday. Franny had eaten the whole bag. I decided to take her to the vet anyways to get her checked and they thought she was alright enough to get spayed. I dropped her off and sadly walked out with the hearing of her cries as I left. What a terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach.
I had 2 other appointments in town and then came home. I called at lunch time to see how she was and everything was going fine. They told me I could pick her up at 4 or 5. WHAT!!!! I thought that long. I thought around 2 at the latest. I have to pick the girls up at 3 and take them to my Mother in laws, and run back for 3:30 to the dentist. Will I be out of there before 5? HUMMM!!!!! I sure hope so.
I came to my hair appointment today and was able to relax a little. (Thus my post on my tablet)
To top off things the dentist is not my favorite place to go, as you see I am a bit scared of them. But I need a good nights rest.
Tomorrow the weeones are off and I will spend the day lazing around the house with them. They want to do some baking.
HB is off all next week. So nice. We hope to get a lot in Jill's new add on bedroom done.
Well I think I will go call the Vet again and find out more info. Have a great weekend.

Warmer Then Normal Temps.
Good Morning. It is a rainy foggy morning out there and we are expected to reach a high of 15 degrees today. WOW!!!! That is really weird for this time of year.
The weeones awoke to hardly any fire on and the house still warm from last evening. I made sticky buns for breakfast and they had bacon grill cheese with them.
I slept well last night. 10 hours straight and I felt great when I woke up this morning. Very refreshed.
Today I have a bit more Varnishing to do on the tongue and grove boards on the other side of the house, laundry and cleaning out where we are going to bust out the wall.
I also want to go outdoors and work on my window boxes with some greenery and lights. The soil in the window boxes had been to froze to stick any branches in until today.
I took out some cup up chicken out of the freezer and will make a chicken stir fry for supper tonight with rice noodles. Jill's favorite.
Tomorrow is going to be a crazy busy day here. Jayne starts after school sports and she is very excited for this. I pick her up at 4:30 and I want to start the my 25 Days of Christmas with taking the weeones to the hospital for their annual Christmas trees light up. It is simply beautiful. Santa comes with hot chocolate for the little ones and they even give out gifts of homemade scarves to the children. My Mother and Father will watch it from my Mother's Window. I can't wait to take loads of pics.
I will make up a lasagna tonight for tomorrows supper as we will be pressed for time, and Jill will help make her famous pizza bread. I also hope to pop back in tonight with a special up to date picture post,as I have misplaced my camera/computer cord and can't download any pictures at the moment for all of you to enjoy. So if I can find it I will be back tonight.
I wish all of your a beautiful day and I hope you all are getting this mild temps as well.

Back To Reality
Good Morning, it is a crisp damp fall day this morning.(great morning for bird hunting) I awoke to a chill in the house this morning, HB got up at the same time and put a nice crackling fire on so the weeones would be warm when they awoke.
I made oatmeal in the slow cooker last evening and added a little honey to it for breakfast this morning. I made toast and heated up the left over biscuits from last nights supper.
It has been awhile since I have been around blogging and there is a couple of reasons why. First being that since Wednesday morning we have had no phone lines here, so this means no internet as well. They were only fixed at noon on Saturday. The wiring had burnt coming up the lane and they had to rewire the whole thing.
It was so funny to reach for the phone or to try to get on the computer and and say "oh ya I forgot no phone,or no internet" (and I did that more then once) hehe!
The second reason is I was away to my annual Women's retreat this past weekend. I left on Friday afternoon and arrived back home on Sunday late afternoon. It is a weekend of learning new and neat things to do with spinning. I always love going and the food is super and the women are too. I plan on a post this week on my trip.
The weeones stayed next door at my Dad's for the weekend as HB had to work day shift. They all had a ball and my Dad enjoyed having them.
Mom had a good weekend and had a nighbour visit her over the weekend in the hospital so it gave my Dad a break as well.
I always find it so busy the first couple days after going away to get back into the routine around here. I spent the day yesterday washing, cleaning cooking, sweeping and unpacking. Got bread made and biscuits to go with the baked spaghetti for supper.
Today I just wanted to pop in and update anyone who was wondering where I have been and why I have not been commenting on any of the blogs I follow.
Tonight's supper is sort of still up in the air, as I totally forgot to take out a ham and will instead have it tomorrow night. I might take out some tomato soup that I made earlier this fall and froze and have a pizza board, and homemade crackers with it tonight. (It is just that kind of cold weather here for soup)
The weeones have a short week this week with Thursday and Friday off of school for teacher's meetings. HB only goes back in on Friday night, so it will be a nice break this week. We are invited out to supper with our friends on Thursday night as he will be coming home from working away on Wednesday. (We always try to get together when our friend comes home for the week)
I guess that is about it new around here.
Till tomorrow have a great Fall day everyone!!!

O la la !!!!
Good afternoon everyone!
The weather here is beautiful today for a Thanksgiving weekend. We are in the high 20's. (what a difference)
Yesterday was a busy day so I was unable to blog.
Morning up without making breakfast as we were going to the annual school's Family breakfast. (For family week)
The girls and I were there at 7:30 to get into line. We met HB on the road coming home from his last night shift. Justin had a activity day at school and there was nothing he enjoyed so decided to stay home for the day. We had a good time talking with all those parents that I never get to. Breakfast was pancakes, toast, cereal, muffins and fruit. Served by the teachers and staff at the school.
After 8:30 I left the weeones and headed into town for a long overdue perm in my hair.It felt great having someone else working at my hair for the day.
I headed back home to find the men in my life gone and a note saying that they had to run into the city for tractor parts and would be home for supper.
I cleaned up a bit kept a fire on as it was freezing out with a high of 4 yesterday all day.
I got ready and headed back to get the girls after school (for there Friday pick up treat) We stopped at the take out and picked up some supper and went home.
NOW FOR THE O LA LA!
HB had got back and decided to by us all a new gift for the house.
HE bought us a new Keurig
We have always wanted one and finally
He bought a selection to have of teas, coffees, and cocoa.
I went for the teas right away,
The weather here is beautiful today for a Thanksgiving weekend.

Grand Opening
WOW what a great weekend. The shop was filled with loads of smiling friends, new customers, and lots of chatter.
My sales were so good that I almost sold to much. All that spinning is going to have to happen more now.
I opened at 9 and by 10:30 I had sold almost over three times as much that I thought I would.
It was so amazing.
I closed at 1 to begin my first class it was so nice and cozy and all the women (both familiar faces and not) enjoyed it so much. They all booked in again for tomorrow afternoon. I never would have thought.
Thank you to all that came out and had took time to take a look around, and those how came and bought and also those who stayed and had a wonderful afternoon of spinning and knitting.
So what did my weeones do all Saturday well..... the girls had birthday parties to go to. Jayne went to a Halloween costume birthday party and had a blast. (very creative Mom) ans Jill went to the stables for a birthday party. They both had a great day, and Dad was off to take them. Justin spent the day with Grampie. So needless to say we all did not have to be rocked to sleep Saturday night.
Sunday was a very cold day we had to keep a fire on all day in the house. HB worked a bit on the addition and I cleaned and took the girls with me to the hospital for the afternoon to visit with Nanny.
We had a meatloaf for supper last night and I took a meatbird out for tonight.
I got everybody up and running this morning with pancakes and sausages and have been trying to get the house back in order, after a busy weekend.
Today is mostly a cleaning day and cooking. So I better get a move on.
Have a great day everyone.

News Bulletin From Family Farm Living
Good Morning everyone! I hope you are all doing well this Fallish morning.
We have had a whole lot going on around here, so I thought I would update you all.
To begin HB has just started a new job. After getting on this past Spring here at the local Mines. He was asked to take a new position with another company at a new mine is being built and underway, about a hour away from the town. The job came out of the blue and had to make the decision ASAP so after a lot of meeting took the new job and began it last evening with having to put in 5 night shifts (which he as not worked in a very long time hehe!)but I am sure it won`t be to hard to get back into the routine. He then gets 5 off and then 4 days and 4 off. (not to bad of a shift)
My Mom was suppose to get out of the hospital today, but yesterday she did not have a good day, and she had stopped breathing for a little and they had to call a code on her again. But she seemed to be better into the afternoon and evening. I was to see her this morning and the Doctor came in and said that they are going to run more tests and will go from there as they do not know what is causing this. But she is feeling herself again.
Do you remember be telling you all that I had new news on my Fiber studio and was making some changes and additions. Well I have decided after many friends and others approached me to buy my fiber, yarns, and wanting to learn how to spin themselves that I am going to open my studio up to the public to buy my fiber, yarns and to teach a few classes. When I through the idea out to friends and family then immediately went and spread the word to others. My phone was ringing off the hook.
We (meaning the whole family) have worked very hard and a few good friends that are great carpenters
have made my studio a amazing place to be!
I use to only have a little room cramped and very limited to space.
And now WOW!
THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE WHO HELPED!!!!!!
I will be beginning classes the first week of October.
The hours will only be a few a week and will decide if I need more after a bit.
The new puppy is growing and goes for her first set on boosters tomorrow afternoon. She has settled in nicely and is coming along.
We made a big decision this year and decided not to go back to Girl Guides. The girls really did like it but was so late at night and we did this for a lot of years and decided to make a change. Jayne is wanting to join indoor soccer
and Jill is wanting to go to paint art classes as well.
They say sometimes change is good so we will see.

A Weekend Recap
We had a nice weather wise weekend. The weather has sure became Fall like since the weeones went back to school. We have even began to put small fires on in the mornings to take the chill out of the house.
The weeones have settled in nice at school and are happy to be back.
Jill made the cutest bookmark at school this week.
Owls have became a favorite in our home over the last year.
I thought this was such a cute idea and the wings and head get placed over one side of the page while the back is on the other.
Friday evening we went out to supper with a other couple. The husband works away and when he comes home we always try to go out to supper. It was very nice and we enjoyed our time together.
With Fall arriving here the flowers are showing many signs. The annuals are turning to seed and I have been collecting almost every day now. While I was out collecting I noticed the flowers I had planted in a old cedar stump were still very pretty.
I even noticed a bumble bee taking his last of necter for the winter months ahead.
I walked throughout the flower garden deciding where we might need some changes for next year and where some perennials need to trimmed and divided up as they have taken a little over. While I was walking I also came across these most beautiful mushrooms.
Besides owls our family has taken a real liken to mushrooms as well.( this one almost looks fake)
Hb has been busy this weekend working on getting the roof on and finished on the new addition to the house.
The days seem to take so long for the dew to lift that yesterday when the dew did lift after lunch we ended up getting a rain shower,so he had to stay working on the rook instead of making hay.
I put a boiled dinner on for supper tonight and we have bread a rolls rising and the girls will help me make pistachio squares for desert.
This afternoon we are going to visit my Mother at the hospital she is doing well and we are hoping that she will be able to come back home this week.
Well I hear my washer stopping so I must go and hang out yet another load on the line.
Have a great Sunday Everyone.

The Calm before the storm
We are expecting a beautiful day even though we woke to a freezing -20 this morning. We are going to get up to +2 (WOW) We are epecting another snow storm tomorrow and Saturday just like every other weekend. (so it is the calm today before the storm)
Last evening we went to a birthday supper for my HB's Grandmother's 90th birthday. We all enjoyed our evening and the place was so busy. We had the room on the side and I was expecting 20 people for family but Grandmother was busy calling all her family and ended up with over 40. WOW I guess not to many people turn 90. Even her grandson came in on the 5 o'clock flight from out west and shocked everyone. What a nice thing, as know one knew he was coming.
She even gave out roses to the women for coming, and chocolates to the men. (I told you she can do more then most of us put together.
I forgot my camera but my sister in law took lots of photos and will email them to me. When we got home we took some. As it was the girls first rose they have ever got.
Do you think Justin will share those with his sister's?
Today HB is getting off at lunch time as we need to go into town and do some banking, we will also pick the girls up today after school.
NOW FOR THE BIG NEWS!!!!!!!!
HB got the job here at the mines drilling. He starts on Monday and has 2 days of workshops then it is off to the jobsite. We are hoping that it is what we need and if so then he will stay here. If not he will then leave for the job in Redlake On. awhere he was before. There is also suppose to be 2 other mines opening here in the Spring and he is hopeful that he can get on there,if this one does not pan out. (but for now it is work)
Tomorrow the girls have a busy day. They have a penny circus with there guiding group from 10 to 3, and then a Birthday party for Jayne's best friend at the pool from 4 to 6. Then Jayne is sleeping over at her house. Justin is going to the in laws for the weekend to make beef jerky with his grandmother. Then off to another Birthday party for Grandmother on Saturday for supper.Jill and HB and I are all alone on Saturday night. So if the weather is good then maybe we will go out.MAYBE!
Well I better get my house work finished up and get some ground beef out for supper as we are having Shepopords pie for supper with toss salad, and biscuits. Tonight is also the girls guiding night.
Take care and I hope all those Storms and wild weather I have been watching on CNN for the states is not affecting any of my fellow blogging friends.
